Types of Skin Cancer

What We Treat

Dr. Rotter is trained to diagnose and treat all major forms of skin cancer, from the most common to the most complex.

Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC)

The most common form of skin cancer. Rarely spreads but can cause significant local destruction if untreated. Highly curable with Mohs surgery. Often appears as a pearly bump or pinkish patch on sun-exposed skin.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC)

The second most common skin cancer. Can spread to lymph nodes or other organs if left untreated. Often appears as a scaly red patch, open sore, or wart-like growth on sun-exposed areas.

Melanoma

The most dangerous form of skin cancer due to its ability to spread rapidly. Early detection is critical. Dr. Rotter is trained in melanoma diagnosis, excision, and surgical management.

C

Variation in color — shades of brown, black, red, white, or blue.
D
Diameter
Larger than 6mm (about the size of a pencil eraser), though melanomas can be smaller.
